Métis Matters is published monthly both online and in hard copy. To provide communication to Métis and non-Métis people in an effort to create awareness in, promote and preserve Métis cultural heritage.
The objectives of the Métis Matters Foundation of Alberta are:

To encourage and promote Métis cultural awareness.

To distribute a monthly Métis Matters newsletter.

To design and implement a Métis Matters Foundation of Alberta website.

To provide monetary scholarships to Métis students on the basis of financial need and/or academic performance.

To provide Métis cross-cultural presentations for schools, industry, governments and public.

To promote public involvement, cooperation and participation in the Métis Matters Foundation of Alberta activities.

To generate funding through grant applications, donations and cultural activities such as, but not limited to, talent shows, jamborees, arts and crafts, and banquets to assist in financing the Métis Matters newsletter, Métis Matters website, Métis cross-cultural presentations and the Métis Matters scholarship.
October 2003 Professional printing of the Métis Matters publication.
December 2003 Launches Métis Matters website designed by volunteers Craig Stanchfield and Wes Twin, Computer Systems Technology Aboriginal NAIT students.
March 2004 Presented a workshop called Métis Music in the Classroom at the Aboriginal Head Start Regional Training in Edmonton, Alberta.
April 2004 Métis Matters website upgraded by Métis youth entrepeneur Jeff Ward.
June 2004 Built a playground for the Abbott Community, Edmonton, Alberta, in partnership with Abbott School and the Ben Calf Robe Society providing a $39, 000 matching grant from the Alberta Government's Dept. of Community Development.
July 2004 Awarded six Métis youth from across Alberta from grades 4 - 12 with a monetary scholarship in partnership with the Alberta Government's Dept. of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development.
November 2004 Hosted a community Tribute Jamboree to Aboriginal Veterans in Edmonton, Alberta, in partnership with Métis Child and Family Services, Apeetogosan and the Aboriginal Veterans Society of Alberta.
November 2004 A Gold Sponser for the Métis Fest in Edmonton, Alberta.
February 27, 2005 Hosted a free Stew and Buns lunch at the Sacred Heart Church in Edmonton, Alberta, feeding about 400 people.
